Vegan Brunch Blog

We live, just round the corner form Elsworth Kitchen and it’s been a firm, family favourite since it opened. Over the years we’ve had many celebration dinners, lockdown takeaways and platter boxes. So, it was about time we tried the Elsworth Kitchen breakfast, which isn’t easy when you are a parent to teenagers, as they prefer to stay in bed until lunchtime. Thanks goodness Elsworth Kitchen do brunch!

As a family consisting of a vegetarian, pescatarian and a vegan we’d heard great things about the brunch menu and the February half term was the perfect opportunity to give it a try. The minute we walked in to Elsworth’s we were greeted by their friendly waiting team and shown to a table. We sat downstairs (although there is more seating upstairs too) and we could just about peep into their open kitchen and see their chefs at work.

From the menu I chose the Vegan Full English with flat mushrooms, roasted tomatoes, smoked beans, chickpea fritter, and scrambled tofu. Wow! There was also a choice of non-dairy milks for my accompanying latte (I chose Oat). My son had smashed avocado and poached eggs on toast (and half of my vegan breakfast) and my daughter had eggs and smoked salmon and a side of Haloumi!

We were even too full to squeeze in one of Elsworth’s amazing vegan brownies! But this is a good excuse to go back another day.

I can’t recommend Elsworth’s enough. The atmosphere here is so warm and relaxed, the staff are so friendly, and we had lots of time to enjoy our meal and spend some quality time together without constant interruptions from (my kids) phones. Although as you can see, I used my phone to take lots of photos of the amazing food!
